Susan has been fortunate to study and practice with some of the finest Buddhist and Mindfulness Meditation teachers, including Jon Kabbat Zinn, Ph.D, Thich Nhat Hahn, The Dalai Lama, Chris Germer, Ph.D, Joseph Goldstein, Lama John Makransky, Jack Kornfield, Ph.D, Sylvia Boorstein, Ph. D, James Baraz, Ph.D,and Tulku Chagdud Rinpoche, along with many others. She has been very fortunate to do many meditation workshops and retreats. In 1996, Susan did a 3 month retreat at the private Oregon Summer retreat with the renowned Tibetan Yogi, Tulku Chagdud Rinpoche.

Susan taught Environmental Education for 13 years, which gave her a solid foundation in living a Green, Healthy and Mindful Living Lifestyle. Her Environmental Education expertise parallels much with Mindfulness teachings, including being Present, understanding that everything is interconnected and interdependent. She used to teach children how to walk quietly in the woods. Later on she learned to apply the same principles in teaching Mindfulness Walking Meditation. She would teach children how to sit still, communing peacefully in nature. Later, she learned that sitting still like a clear forest pool as taught in Zen Meditation is similar to what she taught in Environmental education to children . She also led vision quests and hiking camping trips to young teens, which was very similar to leading meditation retreats.

In the early 1990’s Susan lived simply by choice in a rustic solar powered home on a 400 acre sheep ranch community in Northern California. Susan has been fortunate to do extensive traveling, camping and hiking. She has learned much about natural healing, diet and nutrition for health and well-being. Susan lives with complex and disabling medical conditions. She is a Success Story and a Role Model due to living a Green, Healthy and Mindful Lifestyle, along with implementing integrative medical treatments and practicing daily Mindfulness Meditation. She enjoys organic gardening and cooking healthy, organic, whole foods meals. Her wealth of life experience and extensive Mindfulness Meditation practice has made Susan a very wise, compassionate, knowledgeable and a skilled psychotherapist and meditation teacher.
